→ Go to 1984.is, click LOGIN and choose Control Panel.
→ Click Goto ControlPanel.
→ Click Mail at the top of the page.
→ Find the email you want to activate autoreply for.
→ Click Autoreply.
→ Fill in your message in the text window and click Activate/update.
→ The Autoreply button should now be green to show that it is enabled.
→ To change the message you just click the Autoreply button change the message and click Activate/update.
→ To deactivate it click the Autoreply button and there click disable
→ Go to 1984.is
→ Click Login
→ Select Control Panel
→ Click á Goto Control Panel
→ Select á Mail
→ Click á Add email account for the domain you want to add a email address for
→ Fill in Username the part you want to be in front of @
→ After adding the @ symbol the domain should be automaticly added to the end.
→ Password if the measurement bar becomes green you have a good password
→ Click Add new email
→ Then go to vefpostur.1984.is to see if everything is working
→ Username is the email address you created
→ Password your powerful password
If everything is OK, you can set up an e-mail client, such as Thunderbird for example.
Incoming mail server: (IMAP)
→ is always mail.1984.is
→ Port: 143 (not a secure connection or STARTTLS) eða 993 (SSL - secure connection).
Outgoing mail server:
→ Port smtp is 465 (TLS or STARTTLS), or 475 (SSL), or 587 (TLS or STARTTLS).
POP configuration: We recommend using IMAP, but if you for some resons need to use POP then:\
→ Incoming pop mail server: mail.1984.is on Port 110.
→ Outgoing mail server: mail.1984.is on Port 475 (SSL).
Note; You need to authenticate with username and password for both incoming and outgoing mail.
→ From inside Gmail click the gearwheel in the upper right corner and choose Settings.
→ Click the Accounts and Import tab.
→ On the right of Check email from other accounts: click Add a POP3 mail account that you own.
→ Email address: Your email address.
→ Username: Your email address again.
→ Password: The email password.
→ POP Server: mail.1984.is
→ Port: 995 (Always use a secure connection (SSL) when retrieving mail)
→ Choose Leave a copy of retrieved message on the server.
→ Click Add Account.

→ Name: The senders name (your name?).

→ Secured connection using TLS (recommended) should be on.

If the window Welcome to Thunderbird opens when you start Thunderbird for the first time, then choose

→ Click the Alt key on your keyboard to see the the menu row on top of the window.
→ Choose Tools and Account Settings.
→ Click Account Actions and choose Add Mail Account.
→ Your name: Is the name you want the receiver to see as sender.
→ Email address: Your email address.
→ Password: Your email address password.
→ Remember password You probably want Thunderbird to remember the password.
→ Click Continue and choose Manual config.
→ Incoming: should be IMAP.
→ Server hostname is mail.1984.is
→ Port 143 STARTTLS
→ Authentication Normal password.
→ Outgoing: SMTP
→ Server hostname is mail.1984.is
→ Port 587 STARTTLS
→ Authentication Normal password.
→ Username: Incoming: Your email address, Outgoing: Your email address.
→ Click Done (or Re-test).
