To reset the root password you need to follow these instructions

  *   login to your user
  *   click the vps control button for the vps in question
  *   press remote access
  *   mount the System Rescue CD 8.04-amd64 image
  *   go into the console below and type in "fdisk -l"
This lists all disks and partitions. Your root partition is typically something like /dev/vda1 or /dev/nvme0n1p2.      
  *   Type in "mount /dev/vda1 /mnt"
  *   then type in "chroot /mnt"
  *   Reset the password by typing in "passwd"
  *   type in the following commands
exit && umount /mnt && reboot
